Apparently, I have great hair.

This is exactly what I have been hearing every time I go out to get a hair cut, for the past 3 or so years that I have spent in the States. A trip to the barber in India always involved me walking up to the store, telling the ‘barber’ (not a stylist, as we call them here) what I wanted, him trying to match my expectations, and me walking out of the store some 10 minutes later with something radically different.

My core goals of getting my hair cut have changed over time -

India – get a haircut because my hair is too long or my mom is nagging or both or it’s been a month since the last one

States – get a haircut because I need to look good for my visa pictures (and not get pulled over at the border) or it’s been three months since the last one.

On a side note, I just watched the final installment of The Matrix with my brother and uncovered a little bit more about the story with his help. The break has been great so far. I’m planning to make a short trip to Portland some time soon.
