Me vs. Rental car (pt. II)

Tomorrow, my brother and I leave Seattle nice and early for a road trip to San Francisco. I rented out a car and this time around, made sure that I didn’t end up with the HHR again. I got a nice looking Ford Escape and I really like it so far. The car (or SUV rather) handles really well for it’s size and feels great to drive around. Maybe I am a little biased now that I drive a huge SUV but I almost ran a red light today because I thought I could :) (with great big SUVs, come great ego).

If everything goes well, we should should reach San Francisco sometime tomorrow night, get done with our Schengen visa interviews (for Spain) Friday morning and start driving back late Friday. We are planning to camp out for a couple of days in northern California and Oregon area on the way back and taking our supplies with us. That reminds me that my brother got a new road bike for himself (which we are taking on the trip as well)

Disgrace

I knew things were going right the moment I woke up this morning. For one, the water supply stopped halfway through my shower. I remembered seeing the notice for the repairs starting at 9:15 in the morning for about 20 mins but I cleaned up as best as I could and got out. As someone who takes 3 showers a day, I should have known better that half a shower wasn’t a good sign.

Anyways, I stroll into work and realize that I have to discard everything that I’ve been working on for the past 4 days and restart from scratch. Although this was expected, this was the second sign.

And finally I go to pick up my rental car for the weekend and end up with this POS -

This is such a disgrace! How can I be seen riding something like this? A couple of days ago, my brother was in Palo Alto and his rental car was the same as well. Avis just screwed us over. I hate you, Avis!

PS. If you seem me driving around in this crap this weekend, don’t judge and don’t hate :(
