Work, work out and some…

I’ve finally started churning out code for ‘the man’. I had my first check-in yesterday and nothing broke the build. I guess I am competent programmer now that my code compiles :) . On a side note, the server that I run my tests on, has 8 freaking cores and 8 gigs of RAM. For those of you that have no idea what this means, if this was your computer, it could load up facebook and itunes a hundred times over in less than no time. And for those that understand this jargon, I haven’t really pushed this beast to the limit and I doubt I ever will, but it feels like someone just gave you the keys to their Ferrari when all that you have been driving so far is a beat up Honda. I’m loving it and it feels so good when you are surrounded by smart people. The electronic access cards, the jargon, nerdy jokes, talk about computers and code all day, this is paradise…

It’s my brother’s birthday today…. Happy Birthday Goki…..

Sh*t…*^&*^#$%#&

So, how do you do well in a class that you absolutely hate, rather disinterested in and see no point or application for it? (computation theory)

A) Talk to the smart sibling who’s been there, done that and aced it

Well, turns out he was way smarter and just did what he had to do… that didn’t work for me…

B) Talk to a friend who’s been there, done that and came out alive

I did, he had a different professor who was 10 times easier and agreed that my guy sucked. So that didn’t help either…

C) Talk to a friend who had this professor before and listened to him when he suggested not to take this class with this guy…

I wish I had  *(^#&*#^$*^& :(

D) Suck it up, study as hard as you possibly can, get superstitious, wear glasses, your favorite shirt and your lucky pants and face it.

I did and I just epic-failed this piece of crap. Well, I know that 90% of the class is failing with me too but then what’s the point in teaching a class where the majority of the class fails and then you grade the failures on a curve? Sometimes, I just don’t understand this system, when the prof is more keen on tearing a new one for you than see you get out of the class with dignity. I must mention though that the guy teaching the class was really cool, funny and did as much as he could, except his homework, tests and the class sucked balls. Now, all that I can do is sit here and bitch blog about it and hope that I get a decent grade.

This quarter has sucked so far and would probably be the worst by far, in terms of the grades I would end up getting in 2 of the 4 classes. Tomorrow’s final is another one that I wished I had listened to my friend and not taken it. I hope I get out of there alive…..

In other news, my RAM replacement came in today .ie. I’ll be wasting an hour trying to setup my desktop again. Ahhh… I wish I could punch holes in the walls

PS. Just realized that I need to pay more attention to what I write and use the spell checker…. maybe on the next one, there is just too much caffiene and adrenaline in my system at the moment…

Vista, Desktop, waste of time

Never have I ever been so frustrated, trying to get a PC to work. I spent abouot 24 hours installing and re-installing multiple OS’s on my new desktop that I built. I’ve always heard horror stories about it but it really sucks to be the one saying it.

Anyways, after hours of pointless installation, I find out that my RAM is screwed up. What should have taken me an hour at most, took me 24 and I’m still not done. Returning my RAM back to Newegg tomorrow and waiting for a replacement. Until then, I’m back to working on my not-so-fast laptop…
